The Distict One office of the New Mexico Department of Transportation encompasses Hidalgo, Grant, Luna, Dona Ana, Sierra and Socorro Counties, and the southern tip of Caltron County. It contains several major drainage areas including a portion or all of the following rivers: Rio Grande, Gila Mimbres, Alamosa, Rio Puerco and Rio Salado. The district covers the southwest portion of New Mexico, which borders three Port of Entries at Columbus, Antelope Wells and Santa Teresa. The PIO works on providing information current and accurate information to these surronding areas; including, fellow government agencies.
