Dona Ana County Democratic State Representative Raymundo Lara has introduced House Bill 101, the New Mexico Education Assistance Act. Here’s Lara on the bill:

The bill provides for sports wagering and table gaming through the lottery—and enacts all the restrictions that accompany state-sponsored gambling. It would also create the educational assistance fund. Lara says the bill would provide up to forty-four-million dollars in new revenue.
