Senator Mark Moores’ Student Athlete Endorsement Legislation Clears Senate Committee with Bipartisan Support

SANTA FE – The “Student Athlete Endorsement Act” – sponsored by Senator Mark Moores (District 21-Bernalillo), Senator Bill O’Neill (District 13-Bernalillo), and Representative Antonio Maestas (District 16-Bernalillo) – today cleared the Senate Education Committee with bipartisan support. Senate Bill 94 (SB 94) would allow student athletes in intercollegiate sports at New Mexico’s post-secondary educational institutions to receive compensation from the use of their name, image, or likeness.
