WASHINGTON (NEXSTAR) — The idea of the second round of direct payments may be making a comeback, according to a report from Politico’s Jake Sherman. Sherman, who had been one of the leading reporters of the coronavirus relief negotiations, says Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has softened his stance on the idea of $1,200 payments to most Americans.
