Hundreds of Afghan refugees expected to resettle in major New Mexico cities

“When they come to your neighborhood, just please welcome them and talk to them because they are going to be a part of our community too,” Mohammad Ismail, an Albuquerque resident and Afghan refugee, said.

Resettlement efforts are officially underway for hundreds of Afghan refugees headed to New Mexico. “We are ready to welcome our new community members,” Mohammed Ismail, an Albuquerque resident and Afghan refugee, said.
