New Mexico residents fight for change as drug overdoses continue to rise

Methamphetamine and fentanyl are driving the increase of deadly overdoses in New Mexico, contributing to 78% of overdose deaths last year.

Leaders in Albuquerque are calling for change when it comes to drugs and addiction. On Monday, community members participated in a forum focusing on the epidemic in New Mexico. The event was sponsored by several groups, including Albuquerque Public Schools and the University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center.
