UNM Hospital activates Emergency Operations Center in light of more respiratory illnesses

“It’s just a very convenient and formalized way to talk about what’s happening in the system, and get the needs met in a timely manner,” Dr. Maribeth Thornton, an associate chief nursing officer for UNMH, said.

Albuquerque hospitals have continued to see a surge in respiratory illnesses over the past few weeks.
