Wildfire Preparedness is Year-Round

Show your home some love

Santa Fe, NM – February 11, 2021 – With most of Northern New Mexico in extreme drought, the 2021 fire season could begin as early as late March or early April. The Energy, Minerals and Natural Resources Department’s (EMNRD) Forestry Division is working with local, state, federal, and tribal partners and non-governmental organizations to encourage New Mexicans to recognize that in our changing climate, wildfire preparedness must be a year-round effort. In honor of a new 2021 wildfire preparedness campaign with our partners and with Valentine’s Day approaching, our message for February is: show your home some love.
