Suicides disproportionately affect a number of Native communities across the United States

September is National Suicide Prevention Month, and Native American communities in New Mexico are joining together to provide support. “It’s hard to ask for help sometimes, and I think that in our communities, it’s sometimes frowned upon,” Lynn Trujillo, cabinet secretary for the New Mexico Indian Affairs Department, said.
