The Del Norte Air Force JROTC Precision Air Rifle team was crowned Air Force JROTC National Champions this month after competing against regional finalists from high schools in Washington, North Carolina and Florida. Senior cadets Veronica Bearup, Evelyn Johnson, Angel Lopez, Mateo Moreno and Kasandra Vela put together thee #1 performance. The cadets participated in prone, standing, and kneeling shooting and finished first in the Overall Precision Team score. The Del Norte squad beat a Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps team from North Carolina by 71 points.
