4 Investigates: The prescribed burns that started the Calf Canyon/Hermits Peak Fire

ROCIADA, N.M. — Many people are demanding answers from the federal government on why a prescribed burn in the Santa Fe National Forest was given the green light in early April. The Las Dispensas prescribed burn turned into the Hermits Peak wildfire on April 6 – the same day it was started by crews with the U.S. Forest Service.
