LAS VEGAS, N.M. — New Mexico State Police officer Isaiah Cheromiah has been arrested for an alleged sexual assault of a soldier in 2022. NMSP agents investigating the case learned that in July 2022, a female victim was on a two-week deployment for the New Mexico National Guard. Cheromiah, who was an officer with the Grants Police Department, had been hanging out with soldiers during their off time, according to NMSP.
