New Mexico announces nine-month increase in food benefits

SNAP program recipients receive a 15 percent boost

SANTA FE – New Mexicans enrolled in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) will receive a 15 percent increase to their monthly food benefits for January through September 2021, announced the New Mexico Human Services Department. In addition, all eligible households will receive the maximum monthly benefit amount retroactively by March 23, 2021 for the months of January, February, and March of 2021 to bring them current for the maximum allotment.
