SANTA FE — Today, the Senate confirmed Mr. Kurt Sommer to the State Investment Council (SIC) with a unanimous vote. Mr. Sommer was appointed to the SIC by Senate Republican Leader, Senator Greg Baca (R-Belen), and the Legislative Council, and will serve a five-year term. The SIC manages the investments for New Mexico’s four permanent funds: the Land Grant Permanent Fund, the Severance Tax Permanent Fund, the Tobacco Settlement Permanent Fund, and the Water Trust Fund.
